COVID-19 highlighted the importance of food security and supply chain resilience. Singapore has limited local food production and imports 90% of its food. We observed panic buying as an example of negative behavioural change over food insecurity that can cause inflation and deny essential supplies to others. During quarantine, many friends picked up gardening, especially with the free distribution of seeds by the National Parks Board. We identified an opportunity in urban farming to prompt individuals to reflect on their relationship with food, and looked to repurposing everyday objects to craft an approachable and cost-effective solution.
疫情期间新加坡的粮食供应受到考验，目前新加坡的粮食供应约 90%来自全球 180多个国家。本地政府保证现有储备足够供应民众需要，但是疫情凶猛， 靠粮食进口维持供应的体系毕竟让当地人不放心，新加坡国内的确出现了几次粮食抢购潮。同此，新加坡公园局分发3000份免费食用种子，包括花椰菜、萝卜、南瓜等品种。推出食用园艺计划鼓励公众居家种菜，制造了更了解食物的来源的机会。

Data is collected via water, pH and electric conductivity sensors in its base. Aeri empowers users to make informed data-driven decisions via a mobile app, and guides users towards learning by carrying out specific instructions such as when to refill nutrient solution. The enclosed garden environment allows for efficient water consumption. The net pods and tower can be easily detached to allow for cleaning and repeated usage after each growing cycle.
Aeri 通过底座中的水、pH 和电导率传感器收集数据。 探索真实和全面的信息、提炼出有价值的数据观点再转化为指示说明（例如何时补充植物的营养液）来引导用户学习并做出更明智的蔬菜气雾栽培决策。Aeri 外壳封闭有效降低用水量；外壳也轻松拆卸，以便清洁。

Aeri provides efficient use of space as the all-around facade provides maximum plant capacity on minimal countertop space. The origami fold-like outer casing makes up Aeri’s main silhouette; it can be pulled and expanded to its full size to accommodate up to 8 plants.
